Blade Root On Site
Repair Solutions
Restore damaged blade root inserts on site, reducing downtime from months to days while avoiding transport, replacement, and factory lead times.
Repair Blades Instead Of Replacing Them.
Loose or damaged blade root bushings used to mean replacing the blade or shipping it to the factory – high logistics costs and months of downtime. We repair the blade root at the wind park instead – a world-first on-site remanufacturing solution developed with We4Ce.
A portable CNC machine removes the faulty threaded inserts and restores the blade root geometry, machining to OEM specification. New inserts using We4Ce’s patented Re-FIT bushing technology are then bonded in place. The repair covers bushings, bolts and flange surfaces – on the ground onshore, on a vessel deck offshore.
- Downtime drops from months to days – typically 2-5 days on site
- Up to 60% lower overall project cost – no blade transport, blade replacement or factory repairs
- Expected lifetime similar to the original – the blade is reused, not scrapped
