Vejle, Denmark, 2 July 2026 – CNC Onsite, a Vejle-based expert in precision machining for wind turbines, has been nominated for Denmark’s prestigious “EY Entrepreneur Of The Year” award. This international competition honors outstanding entrepreneurship and rapid business growth. The nomination highlights the company’s momentum as it prepares to launch its first international subsidiary to extend its patented repair services globally.
CNC Onsite has qualified for the award by passing EY’s strict financial performance criteria, requiring companies to demonstrate sustained financial stability, a robust workforce, positive equity, and significant year-on-year growth in gross margin or revenue.
”Being nominated for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year award is a great honor. It reflects not only the entrepreneurial spirit of CNC Onsite and our unique approach to solving client challenges, but above all, it is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our employees,” says Søren Kellenberger, CEO and co-owner of CNC Onsite.
Patented Innovation and Entrepreneurial Roots
Founded in 2012, CNC Onsite serves the onshore and offshore wind energy sector, offering on-site precision machining of large and complex components, including 8-meter diameter offshore flanges and also yaw ring and blade root repairs. Its pioneering uptower yaw ring teeth repair, launched four years ago, was born from an entrepreneurial idea by founder Hans Løvlund.
“We worked with the customer, a wind turbine manufacturer, as a team to analyze the challenge and figure out how to precision-repair relatively small, damaged parts without having to disassemble the entire nacelle,” explains Løvlund, CTO and co-owner.
Today, these patented solutions rely on computer-controlled machining and clever design, boasting multiple patents. Industry leaders like Welcon and CS WIND Offshore have integrated this specialized machining into their manufacturing processes for tower flanges and transition pieces respectively, to meet increasingly stringent millimeter tolerance requirements.
Global Reach and Strategic Partnerships
As part of its strategy to solve complex technical challenges directly in-park and uptower, CNC Onsite actively joins forces with like-minded international partners. A prime example is the collaboration with the Dutch blade-design expert, We4Ce. The challenge was to repair turbine blades with damaged blade root bushings. CNC Onsite developed a custom-built milling machine that precisely removes the damaged components, allowing new bushings from We4Ce to be installed. This technical solution eliminates the need for costly replacements of entire blades. This first large-scale project was successfully executed in Thailand, where 1,000 bushings were replaced across 26 blades. This success has opened the door to service agreements spanning a further 12 Asian countries.
As part of its strategy to solve complex technical challenges within wind farms, CNC Onsite continuously enters into partnerships with leading international players.
To meet growing demand for its mobile machining solutions, which also serve heavy industries like shipping and bridge construction, CNC Onsite recently built its 2,500 m2 headquarters and technical center in Vejle, Denmark, dedicated to developing customized machines, including mobile gantry and orbital milling equipment.
Financial Performance Backing the Nomination
CNC Onsite’s record-breaking financial results prove that this entrepreneurial approach delivers. Over the last decade, the company has grown its gross profit by more than 300% and more than doubled its workforce to over 60 employees.
This year marks a defining moment for CNC Onsite, as the company has proven the strength of its business model and the trust of its global customers by more than doubling its profits. In just 13 years, the company has successfully evolved from a niche provider into a globally operating specialist, delivering precision projects across Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia.
This commercial momentum perfectly sets the stage for the next phase of growth, as CNC Onsite prepares to launch its very first international subsidiary to scale its patented repair services worldwide. Moving forward, management emphasizes that CNC Onsite’s continuous development and expanding global reach will remain firmly driven by the exceptional skills and commitment of its employees, who play a key role in the company’s ongoing journey.
